2012 durango

2012 durango
couple of months ago we broke the story on the official patent drawings of the next Dodge Durango SUV (see here), or whatever else Chrysler LLC bosses decide to name it. Andrew Currie from the 'Cheersandgears' forums took a couple of these sketches and rendered them to offer us a more realistic view of Dodge's full-size SUV.

The Durango's successor is believed to ride on the same or lengthened version of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee platform, which was developed alongside the next generation Mercedes-Benz ML SUV.

Powertrain options will most likely include Chrysler LLC's new 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar with 290-horsepower and a 5.7-liter V8 HEMI with 360 ponies, while an all-wheel-drive option is certain.

The 2011 Dodge Durango is all new. A full-size SUV with stable handling and impressive good looks. Inside is a quiet, roomy, and comfortable cabin.

Formerly a truck-based, body-on-frame SUV, the 2011 Dodge Durango now uses a carlike unibody architecture that noticeably improves ride and handling dynamics. Dodge has also increased refinement with a smoother, more powerful V6 engine, not to mention a welcoming cabin that has high-quality, soft-touch materials.
Available with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive the new Durango includes a 290-hp 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 as standard and has an available 360-hp Hemi 5.7-liter V8 engine. The Hemi includes the Multiple Displacement System (MDS) for better fuel economy. Both engines are matched with a 5-speed automatic transmission. The R/T trim comes standard with the Hemi engine. The 2011 Durango is offered in five models: Express, Heat, Crew, R/T, and Citadel.

The Durango seats seven passengers with its folding third-row seat; the Heat trim drops the third-row and seats five passengers. Standard safety features include electronic stability control, six airbags, and active head restraints. Available features include HID headlamps, a premium radio with Garmin navigation and DVD, a rear seat entertainment system, leather upholstery, and a trailer tow package.
Interior Design
Modern and functional, the 2011 Dodge Durango’s cabin has been designed with family-style versatility in mind. Regardless of trim level, the design is attractive and features soft-touch materials. The Durango’s easily accessed third row offers a surprising amount of leg- and headroom (even for 6-footers).
